Terms of service

3.1 Account creation

To use certain features of our Service, you must create an account using one of the supported authentication methods we make available, such as Google OAuth, Sign in with Apple, X/Twitter OAuth, or email sign-in. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep this information up to date.

3.2 Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Account termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or abuse of the Service.

4.1 Trial and subscription

We offer:

• Free trial: 14 days of the full coach for new runners, starting when their first week is planned. No payment details are needed, and it does not renew into a paid plan by itself.
• Subscription: a monthly or yearly recurring subscription to the coach, at the price shown before you pay. Subscribing ends your free trial and starts your paid plan that day: on the website the first payment is taken at checkout, and in the app the App Store or Google Play charges you when you confirm the purchase (see 4.6). The rest of the free trial is not carried over.
• Without an active trial or subscription: you can still view your past plan, weeks, logged runs and history, download or delete your data, change your account settings (your name, email, appearance and email preferences) and subscribe. The coach does not plan new weeks, record runs or check-ins, move, skip or ease runs, change your race, running days or coach preferences, record pain reports, import runs, set up heart-rate ranges or write coach's notes, and reminder emails stop.

4.2 Payment processing

Payments on the website are processed securely through Stripe. By making a purchase there, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. Payments in the app are processed by Apple or Google (see 4.6). We do not store your credit card information.

4.3 Billing and renewals

Subscription plans automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel before the renewal date. Each renewal is charged at the price you subscribed at (see 4.5).

4.4 Refunds and cancellations

You may cancel a subscription bought on the website at any time through your account settings or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods or unused subscription time, except as required by law. If the coach isn't right for you, email support@createrunplan.com within 14 days of any payment on the website, including a first payment taken when you subscribed during the free trial, and we will review your request. A subscription bought in the app is cancelled and refunded as described in 4.6. When a subscription ends, your account continues as described in 4.1 under "Without an active trial or subscription".

4.5 Price changes

Website subscribers keep the price they subscribed at. If that price ever changes, we will tell you at least 30 days before the renewal it applies to, and you can cancel before then. Prices in the app are set in the store (see 4.6).

4.6 Subscriptions bought in the app

A subscription bought in the iPhone or Android app is sold and billed by Apple (the App Store) or Google (Google Play), not by us, and that store's terms apply to it. Your store account is charged when you confirm the purchase, and the subscription renews automatically every month or year at the price the store showed, until you cancel it.

You cancel it in the store, not in the app or on our website: on iPhone in Settings, your name, Subscriptions; on Android in Google Play, your profile, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends on the App Store, or before the renewal date on Google Play. You keep the coach until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app or your CreateRunPlan account does not cancel it.

Apple or Google handles refunds for payments made in the app, under its own policy, and we cannot issue them. The store also tells you about any price change and asks for your consent where it requires it; you can cancel in the store before the change applies.

5.1 AI disclaimer

Your plan is set by our coaching rules; AI (Anthropic's Claude) only rewords the coach's notes. While we strive for accuracy and safety, plans are provided for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional medical or fitness advice.

5.2 No guarantees

We do not guarantee that your plans will meet your specific needs or achieve your fitness goals. Results may vary based on individual circumstances.

5.3 Consult professionals

Before beginning any new fitness program, you should consult with a healthcare provider or certified fitness professional, especially if you have any pre-existing health conditions.

7.1 Our rights

The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by CreateRunPlan and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

7.2 Your rights

You retain ownership of any information you provide to generate running plans. By using our Service, you grant us a limited license to use this information solely to provide the Service to you.

7.3 Generated plans

The running plans generated for you are for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell or redistribute your plans without permission.
